Spring Cleaning

Life here on a farm keeps us pretty busy. Between bottle feeding kids four times a day, milking goats in the morning and evening, regular chores for the other animals, running a retail shop and other various projects, we barely have time for other things. The experience, however, is priceless.

The downside to all of this is time taken away from knitting sushi roll pillows. I love doing it, so I keep finding the time to knit and assemble at lunch, while a movie is on, during talks with my husband, etc. As always, the final product is totally worth it.

As the weather is still unseasonably warm and sunny, Spring Cleaning is upon us! Chaz and I have been at it all morning; scrubbing sinks and purging extraneous items and going through this huge yarn supply I have ultimately inherited, etc. etc. It's nice to be able to air out this beautiful cabin that has been shut up all winter.

All in all, I have not given up on knitting the pillows. I have accepted the fact that I will not be able to make as many due to work, but that there will still be some in the shop.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Living on a farm where there has been a sextuplet goat birth, things can get a bit crazy. Between bottle feeding kids six time a day, regular chores, milking, watching the pregnant goats for signs of going into labor, running a retail shop on-site and many, many, many other projects on the to-do list, my knitting time has really been shrunk down to practically nothing.

However, living here has not only afforded me to learn, work and live all in one place but it has also given me the opportunity to sell my Hand-Knit Sushi Roll Pillows© in the store here. I am not abandoning my Etsy shop, but rather turning my attention to stocking the store here and the farmers market first.

I have my reasons:
  1. Less packaging for shipping=less waste
  2. Less gas to get to the Post Office, which is a trek as we live in the mountains
  3. I've already offered my goods worldwide for almost a year and a half, so I feel it's time to network face-to-face with the local community
I am still accepting custom orders in my shop and will be listing pillows periodically.
